Just finishing this one up for the umpteenth time.
Bernie's lyrics are very strong for this outing.
Probably one of the reasons I love the album.
Wish we could get a deluxe edition with outtakes.

Suit of Wolves:
If you listen to the recent multi-part YouTube interview with John Jorgenson which I posted (one part) on this site it was the quality of MADE IN ENGLAND which was partly responsible for John Jorgenson joining Elton's band in 1995.
It is a strong album and, I agree, that the sessions had several good songs which didn't make the record such as "Red" and "_ell" plus "Building a Bird" and "Live Like Horses" (which eventually emerged) and others.
As most dedicated Elton fans say, we are overdue for a 2nd edition of "rarities." The first one (RARE MASTERS) didn't sell much even though it came out when Elton had made a major sales resurgence in 1992.

Past imperfect and Back from yesterday are from these sessions, I think.

The song Lies has some great lyrics. The phrase "I could be great like Tennessee Williams if I could hear something that sounds like the truth" is one of my all-time favorite lyrical phrases by Bernie.
