FAREWELL YELLOW BRICK ROAD:
Here it is. The big announcement is for Elton's final tour beginning in the autumn of 2018 in the USA & Canada. His site has crashed but Ticketmaster has the concert listings so far.
"Farewell Yellow Brick Road" is the official name for this last Elton John tour...
Thoughts?

I had a feeling...he has to end it sometime. It's sad. But hopefully, he'll keep making albums. At least he'll have more time to devote to recording if he wants to do it, and I hope he does.

re: FAREWELL YELLOW BRICK ROAD tour:
rocketman: We certainly have been lucky to have had the opportunity to see Elton so consistently over the decades. Apparently over 300 concerts are planned over the next couple of years for this FAREWELL YELLOW BRICK ROAD tour. It will be interesting to see what the staging & visuals will be like. There will need to be a major upgrade over the recent shows in this area and I am sure that there will be. The set list will be of prime interest to us. I truly hope that the band is expanded a bit. The addition of some like John Jorgenson who can add a lot to the sound will be really important. Are we likely to see backing vocalists or horns or both? Lots to look forward to. I am hoping to get tickets for Toronto or Ottawa or Montreal.

Actually 3 years and 300 shows is a lot! So it doesn't happen anytime too soon. I found this below:
"He didn't rule out the possibility of a future residency like Kate Bush's 22-night stand at London's Apollo Hammersmith in 2014. "I haven't had much time off in my life," he said. "I definitely want to make a couple more albums, but that will be easy since I can do that at home. I want to see friends. I want to spend time at my house and with my photography collection. I'm really looking forward to this tour and I'm really looking forward to the 300th date."
I especially like the idea of a couple more albums. THAT makes me happy!
When the end does come, though, I am going to feel very nostalgic and sentimental.

Yeah, I think I'll be nostalgic as well. We take having concert access to EJ for granted some times.
Do you think that you will try to see him in Boston or Albany (believe these are the closest concerts to where you live) on this last tour?

Okay - so the bad news is that he is (possibly) retiring finally. But the good news is that he is going to have 300 concerts, which means he could come to Finland as well!

Wonder where the 300th show will be?....I'll guess and say MSG.

I never got my presale code. Do you have the code?

amber790:
If you were an eltonjohn.com Platinum (I believe this is the level) member then they elevated you to what they call VIP Status automatically last autumn. This, then gives you a ticket code which they emailed out yesterday evening. Check your "spam" box in case the email landed there. Each person has a separate code, I believe, and it limits you to 2 tickets only.
The best way to get this cleared up is to contact help@eltonjohn.com immediately as the presale for VIP tickets ends by 10 am (EST).
Note to all EJ fans interested in tickets: There are all kinds of different pre-sales happening sequentially through the week leading up to February 2nd which is then the full public sale. See what options exist and if you are eligible for any of them. Check the actual Ticketmaster sites to see the pre-sales. Otherwise, it is February 2nd in most or all cases, I believe.
Good luck.

I'm afraid, Doug, that the 11/17/17 show was really and truly the last show we could go to. Can't do anymore. A monetary situation. But, I'm ok with that. The show we saw was *fabulous*. I'm satisfied. And what I'll do is try very hard to get a recording of Boston or one of those shows. BUT, I do expect some detailed reviews of the shows you guys go to. I am VERY curious as to what the set-list will be for that tour.

Yeah, we both managed to see really good concerts last November. "Levon" was worth the price of admission!
EJ mentioned that this final tour will incorporate lots of visual production which seems right for a big send-off tour. You are right; the set list will be really important. Can't see more than a couple of new album tracks at the most. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of the Las Vegas played songs like "Empty Garden" and "Indian Sunset" and "Circle of Life" find their way into the set list. Hopefully "Tonight" and something that rocks. Lots of "hits" like "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" and "Nikita" have rarely seen recent play time. I wouldn't mind seeing a couple overly played hits be replaced by lesser played hits. We are fussy, aren't we? It will be well worth it, regardless.

Umm, don't know if I'll go when he comes around this way...last time I went, I was 3th row and got a signed bit of card and a Davey guitar pick....would it get better then that?
