I'm going pessimistic and say it will be worse. I fear that the style will not be for me. And I didn't like "Cold Heart".
What do you think?

My fears could definitely be sensible - I checked the album information from Wikipedia and it doesn't look promising. This could be Duets Vol. 2.

re: quality of THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS:
The upcoming new Elton release is certainly looking to be much different than any other album that he has done, or at least it appears that way. DUETS (1993) is most likely the most similar in that both albums feature guest artists on every song - almost. Some songs on THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS are written by Elton, some songs are written by others, one is mash-up remix of existing older EJ songs, some songs have EJ guesting as a pianist, some songs have EJ guesting as a vocalist, and so on. Lots of variety in songwriting, production, etc.
The range of guests is fairly wide; young hit artists to established older artists (Dua Lipa & Rina Sawayama to Stevie Nicks and Stevie Wonder). The range of artists will, no doubt, create a wide range of musical sounds from various genres. Elton has music in his blood and, as can be seen from his radio show, he stays quite current and up-to-date on new hit music. This is reflected in the number of younger pop artists on the new album.
THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS should be an interesting and unpredictable listen given that it is filled with so many artists over several decades, styles, and genres. It shouldn't be boring. What is most likely is that THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS may be characterized by a lack of cohesiveness. It may not hold together as a solid continuous piece of work - in style. Hopefully it will in quality. Not everyone is likely willing to sit and do repeated listening to such a varied range of songs over what is likely to be 75+ minutes of music. Great albums like RUMOURS and THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON and CAPTAIN FANTASTIC AND THE BROWN DIRT COWBOY benefit from holding together as solid collections; song-in, song-out. I can't imagine that an album of the musical design of THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS will hold together as a consistent solid collection that works well together. We'll see.
If we are comparing THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS to Elton's last studio album WONDERFUL CRAZY NIGHT (2016) then I feel that THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS will provide the listener with a much wider range of musical styles and adventures. WONDERFUL CRAZY NIGHT was fairly cohesive but also fairly safe and mostly familiar without EJ taking much in the way of risks. I am always happiest to see musicians push themselves and not always play it safe; display musical growth which reflects personal growth. THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS, however, may include genres and styles that I am not so interested in buying and listening to. But, that's OK.
Still thinking about how I'll vote on the poll...I will say that this is an Elton album that I won't run out and buy without hearing it. Normally, I buy his albums unheard; THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS will likely have me waiting for a listen first...

I really look forward to duet with Brandi Carlile. Yeah, actually I like Duets too. It just had too many songs, a few should have been left off. My comment was mainly based to what fans generally think about that album.

I'm not gonna say its gonna be totally bad, I like Chosen Family. Don't like Its a Sin. I really don't have much interest in Elton duetting with a bunch of so called up and coming artists. Most of them are here today gone tomorrow. What I want in a new album is Bernie writing the songs and Elton singing them. This definately will be worse than Wonderful Crazy Night.

I think I may like the song with Glen Campbell, Just listened to it on Youtube. It reminds me of No Monsters from WCN.

To be honest, I like 'Chosen Family'. Not great, but certainly not bad. I also really like 'It's a Sin' since it's a great pop song anyway. I also really like Elton's part in Gorillaz' song - I only don't like that rap part because it's really awful. 'Cold Heart' is unnecessary crap IMO. 'Learn to Fly' is kinda positive and optimistic song, but as a whole, not my cup of tea, but I do like the extended version of it with some great Elton's contribution. I think this actually might be an interesting album. I'll probably like half of it and dislike the other half and that's fine. I think it could be better than WCN, which was a mostly safe and predictable album with some of the most boring and uninteresting tunes in his whole career.
