A unique album in Elton's catalog, in most songs Elton isn't present himself.
I'll do a usual track review here next. So, the first one is "Another Pyramid". It is funky, but something is wrong with it and I don't enjoy it as much as many others from this album. Then comes "Written In The Stars", probably the best from the album, and the lead single. It is a typical love song, and a duet. Then we have Tina Turner with "Easy As Life" and that's a dark, unusual song for her. It's a very good song, and so is the next one as well, "Strongest Suit". It's a pretty opposite song to the previous one, cause this one's happy and joyful. Elton steps in for the next song "I Know The Truth", a tender, great ballad. The quality somewhat drops with "Not Me", because there's not much anything special in it. "Amneris' Letter" goes even lower, because it's too short. "A Step Too Far" is return to high quality, and Elton returns with two singers. The weakest song from the album comes next though, and that's "Like Father Like Son". Don't like the arrangement and production on that song, because it should be a rock song, to me. Then we have "Elaborate Lives", which has a beautiful intro, but it comes only about two times in the whole song. "The Messenger" sounds powerful, although it misses the highest ranking. "The Gods Love Nubia" is a very good song as well, but something is missing. "Enchantment Passing Through" is another very nice song, but nothing special. In the ending we have a instrumental, and that continues the same quality level.
