Music: Elton John
Lyrics: Bernie Taupin
piano: Elton John
guitar: Jack White
I cheated just to get on by
Yea, I cheated just to get on by
If I can't save my sellin' ways
Gonna keep on getting high
I sleeping off the weekend run
Sleeping off the weekend run
When I'm awake I'm looking back
On all the ships I've sunk
chorus:
Two fingers of whiskey
Good ol' fashion rye
We shower bound for glory
And pour it best and dry
Two fingers of whiskey
That is all I need
To keep drowning the devil
Living in me
Living in me
I'm hanging on the hook of the moon
Hanging on that trevle moon
If I don't get out of this battle
Lord you're gonna see me soon
Just like a dog, I wanna howl
Like an old dog, I wanna howl
You jump on my aces
Who is gonna save me now?
(repeat chorus)
(repeat chorus)

A nice, bluesy, stripped arranged song with weird lyrics.
4 stars.

Not bad, I think this was recorded around the time Diving Board was recorded. Glad it was left off the album. Wouldn't fit.
3 1/2 stars

3.5 it's like more inspired version of 'Mexican Vacation'.

3.5 it's like more inspired version of 'Mexican Vacation'. Yes, I have similar opinion with you. They are both very similar songs.
