Did you see the first man on the moon
Have you seen the first light of day
When there wasn't someone stuck inside
Something like the moon
Something like a star that's lost its way
Did you go to Dallas on that day
Have you been to where they broke a dream
Where there really isn't room for doubt
Somehow we got lost
And the truth is buried somewhere inbetween
chorus:
And everyone, everywhere
Take time and dry your eyes
'Cause too many tears, too many tears
Have been cried
Just look into that beautiful blue
That beautiful blue, blue sky
And know too many tears, too many tears
Have been cried
The mystery of why they had to leave
I'm only one of thousands saying why
Why a balcony in Memphis Tennessee
Seems trapped in time
Just an angry finger pointing at the sky
Would you wait to stand inside his shoes
And is the best all you have to give
The barefoot man lived a simple life
I guess he knew
Somethings die so other things might live
(repeat chorus)
(repeat chorus)

I don't like the synthetic sound in this song. Usually it doesn't bother, but here it does. I don't know what should replace it though.
It's a nice song and nothing more.
4 stars.

"Too Many Tears" from PEACHTREE ROAD:
Elton's 2004 release of PEACHTREE ROAD saw a collection of songs featuring southern, country, and gospel flavours. "Too Many Tears" is a piano-driven song that stands out from most of the album. Not saying it is better or worse but it just seems to stand out. There is a freshness to it. I do like the piano.
On the extended PEACHTREE ROAD tour of 2004-2005 Elton usually opened the concerts with 8 songs from the album but never "Too Many Tears."
A good song.
Rating: 4 stars

This is a relative standout from an anticlimactic album. It has an epic sense to it, and the feel is really nice. I just wish I knew what it meant. That plucked string device was reused on The Open Chord, I think.
