It loses a lot of elements when stripped to only piano + vocals. That's why I give it:
3½ stars.

3 stars...Reg is a good album, but the remastered CD offers little quality in terms of bonus material. This might be the worst batch of bonus material on any Elton John remastered disc.

I don't know anything remastered and so I don't know if they actually go against the original creative decisions like the mix.

"I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That" (Piano Version) from REG STRIKES BACK sessions:
The original single was a high energy track that came at a time when EJ needed to step back in the face of nasty UK press. The single was a monster hit in Canada; #1 on the single sales chart and #12 on the year-end Top 100 singles of the year chart. It also went #2 in the US and #7 on the US Dance charts with a special 12" remix dance version.
This particular piano edit version is nice to hear because the piano grabs full attention. It is similar to a demo is this way.
Great to hear Elton really work it on piano like this.
Rating: 4 stars
