I wanted to do a poll for these albums that I think are pretty similar. The difference is less Elton in Aida, although the songs are his compositions.
I prefer Duets. The best songs in it are so good that Aida cannot match them.

What does "pwns" mean? I assumed we were saying which we preferred, so I said Duets. I just dislike Aida. It's the kind of songwriting I avoid and wish he had never done.

DUETS vs. AIDA:
I am not a fan of the AIDA release with the wide range of guest stars performing the songs written by Elton & Tim Rice. Very talented artists, but the songs did not register much with me. It didn't seem to register much with the buying public; top 10 in Austria but only #29 in the UK and #41 in the US. DUETS is also not a favourite of mine but I do enjoy several of the songs more than anything on AIDA. I enjoy k. d. lang's "Teardrops" plus "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" with Marcella Detroit, and the live version of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" with George Michael plus a couple of other songs. DUETS also had much better sales than AIDA including #1 in Austria. It seems like these two records had their best success in Austria.
I'd like to say that, despite not being a fan of the guest-filled soundtrack version of AIDA, I am a huge fan of about 7 or 8 of the Elton demos for AIDA.
So, my vote between DUETS and AIDA is: DUETS

I picked Duets, though I don't own either record in any format, and it's been ages since I've listened to anything on either one. I'm just going off of memory, really.

Duets is winning big, I see. The various artists concept on Aida is probably the reason.
