Elton is set to release the 2019 RECORD STORE DAY special vinyl release of LIVE FROM MOSCOW 1979 worldwide in early 2020 in digital, CD, and double vinyl format. This album is superb. I bought it on vinyl during the RECORD STORE DAY release this year. The version of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" is worth the price of admission as is "Rocket Man." The release is slated for January 24, 2020. Here is the news release kindly provided by eltonjohn.com: www.eltonjohn.com/stories/live-in-moscow-1979I'd love to see a "part 2" of this album on vinyl released for RECORD STORE DAY 2020 in April which includes tracks such as "Sixty Years On" and "Where To Now St. Peter" and "Song For Guy" plus the combo of "Funeral For A Friend" and "Tonight" with Ray Cooper which were all true highlights during the Moscow shows plus throughout the "Back in the USSA" concerts later that same year. These particular songs were, in fact, better than some of the hits on this upcoming January 24, 2020 collection. But, as we know, the hits always come first... Either way, this collection and the great falsetto from EJ's elastic and beautiful voice are worth every second. Doug

Is this going to be an official live album? If so, then I'll have to buy it...

BiteUrLip:
Yes, this is an official release from Elton's current (Universal) record company. It will be available on vinyl, CD, and in digital format. As I mentioned, I bought the same release (double vinyl) when released last April for RECORD STORE DAY 2019. Release date is slated for January 24, 2020. Half the album is Elton solo and the other half is with Ray Cooper.

Elton & Ray Cooper: LIVE FROM MOSCOW 1979:
Just a reminder that LIVE FROM MOSCOW is getting an official universal release (LP, CD, and digital) this week (January 24, 2020). I stood in line last April to grab a vinyl copy (double album) on RECORD STORE DAY 2019. Worth every second and the freezing drizzle to get it. Wonderful to hear that falsetto.
I am hoping that the remainder of that Moscow concert finds its way onto an official release this year. Some of the true highlights on that 1979 tour included songs not on the January 24, 2020 and vinyl RECORD STORE DAY 2019 release. Songs that are not on these official releases that excelled on that tour include "Where To Now St. Peter?" and "Sixty Years On" and "Song For Guy" and "Idol" and "Part-time Love."
The piano work on this upcoming LIVE FROM MOSCOW release of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" is worth the price of admission!
