Percussion: John Mahon
Bass: Matt Bissonette
Guitar: Davey Johnstone
Keyboard: Kim Bullard
I've figured out where I went wrong
The script I followed then was awful long
Too much plot too little of
Me acting right not acting up
I've worn the world upon my back
Let someone else but me pick up the slack
Just because I could say,
"It's my life, do things my way"
chorus:
Now I'm looking up more than I look down
The view's a whole lot better second time around
Too much of me was hidden in the shadows
I looked up and felt my feet lift off the ground
I color life with a broader stroke
The laughter comes as easy as the jokes
Nowadays I'm thinking that
Time is wasted looking back
(repeat chorus)
You drop a bucket in a well
It's dark and deep down there
Crank the handle, bring it up
The water's crystal clear
(repeat chorus)
(repeat chorus)

A great rocker. It doesn't have a killer hook though, and the piano riff is average. Great production.
4½ stars.

4 stars...A good enough rock song, drives pretty hard, and it was just nice to see Elton try to up the tempo a bit more on the WCN album. Not as good as the title track, which to me is the best rock song on the album, but it's better than Guilty Pleasure and England And America.

2 forced and uninteresting... his vocal also sounds old. He should released the title song or E&A. He always must go with some crappy universal message for 1st single since new millenium. It's simply wrong. His worst first album single ever. "Victim of Love" and "Heartache All Over the World" are masterpieces compared to this rushed crap.
I expect from Commodore to support me on this one since he was bullying 'The Last Song' till its destruction.

"Looking Up" from WONDERFUL CRAZY NIGHT:
"Looking Up" was EJ's first single (to radio) from 2016's WONDERFUL CRAZY NIGHT album. Elton told Bernie that he wanted an album which was up musically and lyrically and "Looking Up" certainly achieves this. It is somewhat familiar and a little predictable in structure but is well crafted. It isn't EJ's most adventurous pop song but it is a decent straight forward pop-rock effort with a lyric which is optimistic. EJ and the band played this one live consistently from 2016 to early 2018 during the extended WONDERFUL CRAZY NIGHT tour.
Rating: 3 1/2 to 4 stars

Zzzzz. WCN is a whole album of bland and unnecessary songs.

Pretty good rocker, I like the bonus live version a bit better. Still good.
