"It's A Sin (Global Reach Mix)" by Elton and Years & Years:

Elton and Years & Years combined for a new version of "It's A Sin" for THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS.  Similar in ways to the original Pet Shop Boys version (1987) this new version has that Euro-synth-pop feel to it.  It is a toe tapper.   Dance!  The song starts out quietly and ends quietly with piano but shifts gears into dance-mode in between.  The original was the right sound at the right time and became a #1 single across the globe.  Elton's version with Years & Years has a good feel and managed just a touch of chart success.  The Pet Shop Boys co-produced the song.

The song works and is one of my favourites on THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS.

I don't like the way this version is constructed. Starting with piano only doesn't quite work. It should turn into something more complex during the first verse.

The original is certainly better than this.

4 stars...I like it, though I have only listened to The Pet Shop Boys original one time, so I'll refrain from comparisons.
