[Intro]
[Verse 1]
So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters
[Verse 2]
Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
And nothing else matters
[Verse 3]
Trust I seek and I find in you
Everyday, for us, something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters
[Chorus 1]
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
But I know
[Verse 1]
So close, no matter how far
It couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters
[Chorus 1]
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
But I know
[Instrumental Bridge]
[Verse 2]
I never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
And nothing else matters
[Verse 3]
Trust I seek and I find in you
Everyday, for us, something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters
[Chorus 2]
Never cared for what they say
Never cared for games they play
[Chorus 1]
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
And I know, yeah-yeah!
[Guitar Solo]
[Verse 1]
So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No, nothing else matters
No, nothing else matters
[Piano Outro]

It's a great cover although the original is even better.
5 stars.

"Nothing Else Matters" from THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS - Miley Cyrus Featuring Watt, Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma, Robert Trujillo, and Chad Smith:
The song appeared on Metallica's self-titled album and was originally released as a single in 1992 and then again in 1999. The original release saw strong chart positions across Europe. The new version that appears on THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS was released as a single in June of 2021 with lead vocals by Miley Cyrus. Elton's contribution to the song is on piano. Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers plays drums and Robert Trujillo from Metallica plays bass. Yo-Yo Ma adds cello.
Miley Cyrus does an impressive job on the vocals and Elton adds piano quite effectively - which takes a dominant lead in the intro and also the end of the song. This is a solid version of the song. Well worth it.
Rating: 4 1/2 to 5 stars

4.5 stars...this song sounds 'big'. a lot is happening, and stellar musicians are offering big time efforts. My only slight reservation is that the song can seem a little too frenetic, too 'busy' at times. But Miley is up to the task vocally (not easy with all that instrumentation) and it's one of the album's better songs.

I give this song 4 1/2 stars. The problem I have with this album is when I buy an EJ album I want to hear Elton. Theres no Elton in this song. He may play piano on it but when you hear a song with piano you can't tell who's playing the piano. Miley Cyrus did a nice vocal performance on this song though.
So I give this Miley Cyrus song 4 1/2 stars.
