Elton's guitarist and musical director Davey Johnstone is releasing a solo album slated for February 4th, 2022:
Some early info:
* Artist: The Davey Johnstone Band * Album title: DEEPER THAN MY ROOTS * Album info: 12 songs including instrumentals 2 songs were written years ago Bassist and EJ band member Bob Birch's last performance is on this album The band is actually a family affair - playing instruments, vocals, production, and album cover artwork Nigel Olsson appears on this album The track "Melting Snow" has recently been released to YouTube
Previous albums: Davey joined forces with guitarist, friend, and band member John Jorgensen to write the instrumental acoustic CROP CIRCLES during THE BIG PICTURE tour with Elton and released the album in 1998. Prior to that, Davey's only other true solo album was SMILING FACE in 1973.

Release day for the Davey Johnstone Band and their new DEEPER THAN MY ROOTS album - February 4, 2022:
I have so far listened to the two instrumental tracks named "Walt Disney" and "Black Scotland" and both sound very good.
