[Verse 1: Eddie Vedder]
Riding beside me, silver light lightning
Time quickly disappears
Born out of fireworks, still looking skyward
As darkness reappears
[Chorus: Eddie Vedder & Elton John]
You gotta figure it's an e-ticket ride
Why else stand in line?
We take a ride in our e-ticket minds
Tell me yours, I'll tell you mine
Tell you mine
E-ticket ride
[Verse 2: Elton John]
In between moments, questions and quotients
Solved, yet still not clear
Looking for answers, we make up new dances
Ain't that enough if that's all there is?
[Chorus: Eddie Vedder & Elton John]
You gotta figure it's an e-ticket ride
Yeah, why else stand in line?
We take a ride in our e-ticket minds
Tell me yours, I'll tell you mine
Tell you mine
E-ticket ride
[Bridge: Eddie Vedder & Elton John]
I've no need to pledge my faith
To nothin' but time and tide
And I can see the universe
As the universe sees me, yeah
[Interlude: Elton John]
Oh, yeah
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah
[Chorus: Eddie Vedder & Elton John]
You gotta figure it's an e-ticket ride
Why else stand in line?
We take a ride in our e-ticket minds
Tell me yours, I'll tell you mine
Oh, you gotta figure it's an e-ticket ride
Why else stand in line?
We take a ride in our e-ticket minds
Tell me yours, I'll tell you mine
Tell you mine
E-ticket ride
[Outro: Eddie Vedder & Elton John]
Oh, oh, oh
E-ticket ride
Oh, oh, oh
E-ticket ride
Oh yeah
E-ticket ride
Oh yeah
E-ticket ride

Kinda rocker to me. Not one of the better songs from this album though. I dislike the sound of drums.
4 stars.

"E-Ticket" from THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS - Elton and Eddie Vedder.
This is the one rock song from THE LOCKDOWN SESSIONS. The song was co-written by Elton and Eddie plus Andrew Wotman (Watt) who also produced the record. The song is an upbeat guitar and piano driven song. Eddie's guitar has a nice rocking edge to it but the song has a bit of that "been-there, done-that" feel to it. Elton's "England and America" (a bonus track from WONDERFUL CRAZY NIGHT in 2016) can be heard in "E-Ticket." The outro sees EJ borrow some piano parts often heard in his rock songs live these days. Been-there, done-that.
It is, regardless, a nice toe-tapper but doesn't offer anything new. It is, however, nice to hear the solid energetic rock drumming rather than simply time-keeping. I'd like to hear Elton re-invent how he writes a rock song rather than rely as much as he does on stepping back to what he has done before. Hopefully, it is not too late...
Rating: 3 1/2 to 4 stars (max)
