FAREWELL YELLOW BRICK ROAD North American Stadium Concerts 2022:
Elton and the band hit the road on the newest leg of the FAREWELL tour in Philadelphia tonight (July 15). The tour goes to baseball and football stadiums across Canada and the US until late November ending up at the famous Dodger Stadium for 3 nights to apparently end Elton's North American performances of the FAREWELL tour. Multiple concerts (2 or 3 nights) are being held in many cities which means crowds of 100 000 to 150 000 or more in certain cities. An overwhelming response, I would think.
We will see if there are any changes to the setlist. No changes came on the most recent stadium tour of the UK and parts of Europe.

Elton's July 15th concert in Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park:
Elton started his big North American stadium leg of the tour last night and it appears that there are two changes to the setlist. (Spoiler; don't read on if you don't want to know!).
1. "Burn Down the Mission" was apparently replaced by "All The Girls Love Alice" 2. "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word" was apparently replaced by "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters"
Good choices, so far.
I suggest that maybe a song such as "Hercules" replace "Take Me To The Pilot" (both early career upbeat album tracks).

Elton's North American Stadium Tour:
EJ and the Band just ended the first leg of this large stadium tour in Chicago. Incredible to see the fan response; huge multiple nights in large sold out football stadiums.
The reviews have been consistently very good. One reviewer understandably did state that one thing was missing from the shows; he challenged Elton to show a bit more creativity and change up the setlist a bit. This is a definite shortcoming. EJ did bring "All the Girls Love Alice" into the setlist to replace "Burn Down The Mission" and also "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters" to replace "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word." Both songs were dropped and the setlist returned to its predictable format. It would be nice to see at least 2 or 3 different songs whenever Elton plays the same stadium in the same city on subsequent nights. Nope. At least, the band are tight and the performances of the predictable setlist are strong.
They have a month off before heading to Toronto in September for 2 nights at the large Rogers Centre and then off to cities in Western US and also Vancouver, BC.
