Caleb Quaye has once again been interviewed on "Rock History Music" by superb interviewer John Beaudin: www.youtube.com/watch?v=o629yONs9pECaleb was Elton's guitarist (and co-songwriter on occasion) for the only recently released REGIMENTAL SGT ZIPPO (1968) album and then on EMPTY SKY (1969) right up through MADMAN ACROSS THE WATER. Elton brought him back in the band (with drummer Roger Pope) in 1975 for both ROCK OF THE WESTIES and BLUE MOVES. Caleb was considered one of rock's best guitarists by people like Eric Clapton. He was certainly versatile and had solid jazz leanings. He wrote or co-wrote 3 songs on 1976's BLUE MOVES album including the introductory instrumental "Your Starter For..." and the funky "Boogie Pilgrim" and the hypnotic "The Wide-Eyed and Laughing." Too bad that the 1975-76 band never toured or recorded again. They were a powerful rock band (Elton, Davey, Ray, Caleb, Roger, James, and Kenny). Enjoy the interview. Doug
