Elton is closing in on his final 3 North American concerts (Dodger Stadium - Los Angeles) on his FAREWELL YELLOW BRICK ROAD tour and he just announced (at least) 3 guests that will join him on stage:
* Kiki Dee * Dua Lipa * Brandi Carlile
One would think that "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and "Cold Heart" could be added to the set list. What would Brandi join Elton to perform? "Hold Me Closer"?
Lots of new promotional merchandise has been released by eltonjohn.com for these 3 concerts including a vinyl picture disc for DIAMONDS and another version of DIAMONDS as a double vinyl LP with a special Dodger Stadium lithograph included within.
Elton will certainly have a wide array of emotions during those concerts, I would think.

Dodger Stadium - November 17, 2022:
Elton did sport a new Dodger-flavoured housecoat & ballcap for the final encore of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road." Nice to see.
The setlist remained the same and no guests so far.
EJ dedicated "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" to the musicians that he has lost (Guy Babylon, Bob Birch, Dee Murray, Roger Pope, and others) over the years.

Dodger Stadium - November 19, 2022:
Same setlist as opening night (November 17), however, there were special non-musical guests who joined Elton onstage:
* Billie Jean King and member of the Los Angeles Dodgers organization (Mark Walter) came onstage during the concert to thank Elton for his musical legacy and for his work regarding AIDS. The Los Angeles Dodgers generously donated (onstage) a cheque to the Elton John AIDS Foundation for $1 million!
* Billie Jean King joined Elton and the band onstage at Dodger Stadium in 1975 to perform backing vocals and to add to the festivities.

Dodger Stadium - November 20, 2022:
Elton's last concert in North America is in the books. There were many highlights and here are a few:
* Kiki Dee joined Elton for "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" on their first performance of this song together since 2006 * Dua Lipa joined Elton for "Cold Heart" * Brandi Carlile joined Elton for "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" * Bernie Taupin and Elton's family (David and the two boys) joined Elton before the final encore of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" * fans in attendance wore wristbands which were synchronized and spectacularly colourized * "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)" received a fireworks outro which can be seen on an official Disney+ videoclip on YouTube * "Crocodile Rock" was released in the US 50 years ago to the day of this concert
As many people know (and watched) this final concert at Dodger Stadium was streamed on Disney+ to a worldwide audience.
Hard to believe that Elton's touring of United States and Canada is over. Incredible concerts over the years by a man and his band who clearly love to play to audiences...
Some of us got to see Elton solo, with Ray Cooper, as a trio, as a band of 4, 5, 6, 7, etc., with an orchestra, with 2 Cellos, with a horn section, and the list goes on...

The Disney + show was quite good. Many nice things were said about Elton by various entertainers. The band performed well - I was especially impressed by Davey's guitar playing. His solo during Have Mercy On The Criminal was very close to the original studio recording. Levon was once again a highlight. Elton's solo performance of Border Song was very good, and his remarks about Aretha Franklin were very touching. The guest singers all did well. Kiki Dee sounded a bit 'soft' vocally, but she had Covid a few months ago and perhaps that had an effect. Age could also have been a factor. It was wonderful just to see her. Dua Lipa looked absolutely gorgeous, and Brandi Carlisle did a very nice job too. Ray Cooper provided his usual animated performance, always a treat audibly and visually.
