FAREWELL YELLOW BRICK ROAD Tour - Europe - May to July, 2022:
The next leg of the FAREWELL Tour got under way in Norway on May 21. Setlist update; there was one song added - "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word."
One more show in Norway then it is off to Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, and the UK.

Will the stage differ for Stadiums ?
For the price it would want to be spectacular

healy52003:
The stage for the first two Norway concerts was different than what was used in 99% of the Canada & US concerts. I would think or hope that for the upcoming big stadium concerts this year, the stage may be expanded or have much larger video screens to the sides of the stage. It will be important to project the visuals clearly and effectively out to 60 000 or more people. I would also hope to see a couple of setlist changes for the big stadium concerts.
Go to YouTube and view the recent videos for Norway of "Funeral For A Friend / Love Lies Bleeding" and you will see the differences in contrast to the stage used in the recent US concerts.

healy52003:
One stage difference is that there is an apparatus over-hanging the stage. The back of the stage didn't separate to reveal a bank of lights for "Funeral For A Friend / Love Lies Bleeding." The stage floor is identical, I believe.
A Lot less fog in Norway for "Funeral For A Friend."
Still, more or less, a similar staging.

Loved The Performance from the Jubilee celebration (Irish so doesn't mean much from Nationality reasons etc) but can always see Sir Elton off stage with the usual 'Take that you bitch' comment off camera ha
No Disrespect intended

FAREWELL YELLOW BRICK ROAD set list:
Elton and the band have now reached the UK portion of the tour (June 15, 2022) and, still, there is no change to the setlist. Songs that were hugely successful chart-toppers in the UK like "Are You Ready For Love" and "Sacrifice" have not been added. They would be a welcome addition or replacement for "Take Me To The Pilot" and/or "Burn Down The Mission" which have been played for yearssssssssss too long.
Too bad. Lost opportunity. Maybe these songs or others will finally appear at the end leg of the tour in 2023.

Doug Suppose the video screen/lighting etc is sequenced to certain songs each night and would be tricky enough to change/replace Main thing is that everyone is healthy and the show can continue as planned. Covid cancellations are still happening and are still as frustrating as ever

healy52003:
Yeah, lots of effort goes into creating most of the videos for the songs for the FAREWELL tour. Some great ones. A couple of videos ("Burn Down The Mission" and "Take Me To The Pilot") are effective but reasonably basic. They did create a new video for "Have Mercy on the Criminal" which has been added to the post-pandemic setlist. Great to hear that one. The EJ team had a lot of time during the extended pandemic to create new videos for songs which might have been added to the setlist. "Are You Ready For Love" already has a lot of quality stock video in their hands...
The biggest reason that we don't get setlist changes, and this has been an issue for long-time fans for...a long time, is that Elton really hates to rehearse and adding new songs to the setlist means rehearsing them and getting them just right, especially if they haven't been played in a long time. Both Davey (repeatedly) and Elton admit that EJ hates doing rehearsals. There are other reasons, too.
I would certainly go see EJ again on this FAREWELL tour if 3, 4, or 5 songs were changed up. For example, I saw EJ and the band 4 times on the multiple (4) North American legs of THE BIG PICTURE tour (1997-98) and the setlist changed dramatically throughout. Same for THE ONE tour where the 1993 setlist was dramatically different than the 1992 setlist. The setlists were always varied and refreshing and the arrangements (eg. see how "Simple Life" arrangements changed from 1992 to 1998) varied as well. This year, I can't rationalize spending money to see the same shows (less songs, actually) than I saw in 2018 and 2019 no matter how good they are. Seeing & hearing a pre-recorded "Cold Heart" is not why i go to concerts...
Healy52003: I think that, regardless of my desires to see a changed setlist, you should have a blast at the show in Cork on July. These UK audiences have been incredible on this leg of the tour. I have never seen an audience sing at full tilt like the Liverpool crowd did at Anfield the other night. All of the UK audiences have been energized and in good voice! Looking forward to your review.
